About Me

Hello, it’s A!

You’ve just stumbled on my little space on the Internet. Musiqati is my music blog, I started it back in 2012 in my dorm room while doing my undergrad. The idea of the blog is to be a source of introduction to either new music or just some interesting finds you wouldn’t generally find. Like a good friend saying: ”Hey, have you heard this song? You haven’t! It’s great here’s the link”

My favorite genres are r’n’b and indie, but you’ll find I have a  rather eclectic mix of music on here.

Musiqati is the arabic word for ”my music” , since my music is becoming yours.

You definitely want to check out Soundcloud. It provides for a social experience while exploring non-mainstream music. I discovered some of my favorite progressive house music there….
On another note, the social features of most major streaming services (e.g Spotify) basically provide what you’re doing but in a much more scalable fashion. Sure, you may argue that your lists have a more personal touch, but I think that convenience ultimately trumps it all, and having these social functions integrated in the player are indeed quite convenient.

    • I have heard of both Soundcloud and Spotify. I appreciate your input, but the point really was to just have an online interface to share what I’m currently listening to with my friends and whoever else might find their way here. It’s a personal choice at the end of the day. :)

Don’t get me wrong: I definitely recognize what it is that you’re doing. In fact, I think it’s a tastefully laid-out blog. I was just commenting on where I see things going (for good or for bad) when it comes to the social approach to music-listening, and I didn’t mean to offend in any way… it is a question of personal opinion at the end of the day ;)

      • hahaha, dont worry none taken, thank you Wael :)

Great instrumenals. You should check out Thomas Newman’s music too in case you haven’t heard of him. He composed scores on American Beauty, Road to Perdition, The Shawshank Redemption and even WALL-E. Any Other Name is one of his best work :)

    • I will definitely look into it, I haven’t heard of him at all. I just recently started this infatuation with instrumentals. Thank you so much for your recommendation and for stopping by :)
